week 54

Well, Hello my family...How is it? Dad, Congrats on your talk! You always do
good no matter what the circumstances. Dad you are absolutely right about
what you said, sometimes I get like that, we  all know that haha but guess
what? My time here in Seaqaqa has come to an end. I got transferred this
week. I am going to the big city in Suva! I am opening an area Tamavua 2 and
training again. I leave tomorrow morning! Haha man I am lost every time I go
to Suva and I have a brand new missionary who doesn't know where anything is so it should
be interesting! I am excited though. It will be challenging but bring it! I
said all the goodbyes last night and man it was hard!! It really opened my
eyes about my time in Seaqaqa...There are two older ladies that just started
to bawl!!! I felt so bad!! They were very grateful and a couple that I got
very close to was tough too. He is going to the temple for the first time in
August and they want me  to go with him. Tamavua is where the temple is so I
will see what President says. Bro Raiwalui was talking about how we made
history in  the Naduri Village. He said you two will always be the ones that
started the church in Naduri. I was thinking about that and yeah not a lot
of baptisms, but we strengthened those members in Naduri and helped them
want to go to church. We had 24 in Naduri on Sunday  and only 14 in Seaqaqa.
I really feel that now the work will pick up in the next year or so in
Naduri. So I was very grateful and humbled  last night. Sis Raiwalui said
"Shane (haha she calls me Shane) You  have done soo much for this family.
You will always be in my  heart. As hard has the work was, I leave and I see
how much every minute was worth it! This area has definitely changed me and
it shows that no matter how well the work is or how bad it is, you can
always  help people and change their lives as well as change your life. So
yeah it was tough saying bye. I really love these people here but they are
going to Suva in August so I will probably see them there. So off to a new
area and a new challenge! Haha my comp will ask ok where we going? I will
tell him I have no idea, let's go find out together! I guess when it was
opened before it was known for the best dinner appts. YES! The gym is very
close so we can go every  morning. It's the best gym in Fiji, close to the
office and temple, I  am excited. We are walking too so time to get into
shape! It will  definitely be a big change, first time in a city, in
organized work  and all that stuff and an actual ward. The only thing is
it's an  English ward, kind of a bummer. I will still speak as much Fijian
as I can and tell my comp to do the same! So well see what  happens. I went
to the dentist today too. I went last week for a checkup and no cavities or
anything so I just went for a cleaning today. It  was good...of course
flossing, my weakness but he said nothing  big, it's all good, kind of
surprised me. I didn't have a cavity. We  went to Bua as well. We have a
baptism date! Well they do  now. It  will be on June 17th...so that will be
good!! So funny story haha, so the word "uro" literally means fat but it's
like saying you're hot in English. In Naduri, every week, these girls always
call out...URO URO URO haha its so funny! So this week, one of them said it,
so I went and contacted her! OYM man! I don't think she was really
interested in the message but hey its worth a shot! So yeah I was thinking
also this week, how big of a miracle the scriptures are. In class we were
talking about the  Mulekites and how they had no record. We were talking
about what the world would be like without the scriptures. It's a  miracle!
A record so old, and still used today. It's crazy! So yeah, it was a pretty
good week. I will let you  know how Suva is! I have pics but the computer is
messed so I will  just wait to do it in Suva... Well love you all! Hope all

We did not get an email this week because we skyped on Sunday. He looks
great and is doing awesome! Here are some pictures of his burning of them

week 52

Ni sa bula re  na we'aqu!

How's it going this week?? Things sounds like they are going good!! Dad I am

glad you are liking your new calling! Its very nice you can sit with my

wonderful Mother again too! We'll people can you believe it? One year! The

burning of the shirt will happen tonight! I decided to wait when we come to

Labasa. It's crazy! Time goes soo fast! I am not sure if I will go this
transfer or the next transfer in June. I go off and on wanting to be
transferred this time or wait until the next one. Haha, oh well its not my
decision. I just do what I am told! Well things were much better with a

truck this week! Its pretty hot in the day but at night its been cold! Oh
yeah it is 1:00 right now and probably around this time we will be skyping

next week. I dont think it will be as long as last time but yeah. Well
everything else was pretty much the same this week. The unit in Naduri will
be starting next week! I am so happy it is finally going to happen. It was
supposed to happen in Feb but its all good so I am hoping some good things
will come out of that. We went to Bua this weekend. I am so sick of being
the only one who can drive I might add!! Haha I feel my whole mission I
might have a truck but oh well.  I just hope my comps can drive too! Well

this week, we had a Pacific area leadership meeting we watched on

DVD...Hamula, Pearson, and Watson of the area presidency put it on. It was
awesome!! This will be the main point of this email but before that Ill
share some other things from Bua. We have a new investigator who wants to be
baptized...BOMB!!! THe only thing that sucks is we don't go there very often

so we just teach the whole lesson very simple and have the members help her

to understand while we are gone. She is like 16 or 17 and a good girl. She
has been going to church for the past few weeks down there so that's good.

Well, we get back from the lesson and this guy said this other guy was hurt

and he couldnt walk and the whole left side of his body was hurting. I dont
know how it happened. They were talking really fast and in their dialect so
I couldn't understand it. The only thing I do know is that it could have
been something from his smoking or like a stroke or something... not really
sure, but we gave him a blessing and then took him to the hospital. He
couldnt walk so he was carried to the car across the river. We get to the
hospital and was waiting for the doctor...guess what? He is walking around
talking with the nurses and all this stuff. He said the pain was all gone!

Power of the Priesthood!! They just gave him some medicine after and we saw

him the next morning and he was fine!  It was awesome!! The real power of
God! Yeah, we are the first missionaries to ever give a blessing or even go
into that hospital. Haha, fun fact. So yeah that was a cool experience. So
now about the training! It was about Real growth in the church. First here

are some fun facts that I thought were interesting in the Pacific for 2012.

They want 12 new stakes in the Pacific, there are 11,200 prospective elders
and their goal is to ordain 25 new elders every stake conference. There are
just as many missionaries serving from the Pacific as there are serving in

the Pacific..1674 missionaries. They have also started this Food Imitative.
The church is giving free seeds to plant, a few different kinds of seeds and
they want 40 percent to go to the members and 60 percent to nonmembers. Just
giving free seeds and all the tools you need to plant and harvest it, this
plan is to help people learn how to plant and eat health. It is also a
missionary type deal giving 60 percent to nonmembers. It will be starting
very soon in Vanua Levu. They have already started it in Taveuni and I guess
it has been exploding and doing really really well. So it's kind of
interesting. So the training was based on growth in the church and how their
goal to grow the church is thru attendance in sacrament, priesthood, family,
saving rising generation, and sustaining conversion. What is real growth?
Not the total number of members, but the  number in attendance at sacrament,
elders quorum, missionaries, etc. or is it Spiritual Conversion. That's what
real growth is, being spiritually converted. They talked about how sacrament
is the most important meeting and should be spiritual and productive. I
really liked how they said when you give topics for talks, don't just give
one, help the person understand what is to be accomplished...teach them and
guide them in their talk so they know how to help the whole ward. Big thing
was receive the saving ordinances too. Christ began his ministry in an
ordinance(baptism), he ended his life in an ordinance (sacrament),
Church=individual and families= Gospel=Saving ordinances and covenants. I
really liked what, I think it was Hamula, said "Just because you have the

church, doesnt mean you have the gospel" I was thinking about how true that

is. You see so much, yeah I am a member for a long time! Yet they are not
living the gospel or dont have the gospel. They really emphasized the New
and Everlasting Gospel or the saving ordinances. I can't remember if this
was in the Pacific or the whole church but 80 percent of males 19-30 that
get married in the temple, served missions. They explained that each one
builds up to the next, baptism in primary, priesthood at age 12 prepares to
receive Melchizedek, go on mission and then marry in the temple. It all

starts with primary! Its up the the leaders in the priesthood and

auxiliaries to make sure this happens because they are the ones involved
with it. From primary we are building ourselves to live with God, not in the
presence of God, but literally WITH Him. They talked about how worthy
priesthood helps the women receive these ordinances and getting married in
the temple. Boyd K Packer said in 1986, by the way it's just now starting to
really hit home, "True doctrines understood changes attitude and behavior"
No unclean thing can make another unclean thing to be clean. It just won't

happen!  They just talked about how building ourselves in the gospel and

receiving the ordinances will build the church. Each step prepares us for
the next step and you think if a worthy priesthood holder served mission and
married in the temple, chances are a very good, their sons will go through
the same pattern. How many people will receive all of these ordinances?? A
whole lot!! The way they broke this down was soo good and so simple! It was

awesome! I also heard something that I thought goes along with this was 5
things that are very important for families to do together...pray, read, go

to church, dinner, and talk. I am very grateful for you two, my wonderful
amazing parents, for teaching us and doing these things with us! Pops, you
started it with receiving the priesthood, living worthily, serving a

mission, marrying in the temple with my wonderful mother and showing us the
example! Now Jace and I have the priesthood, served/ing missions, and one

day will marry in the temple. Mom and Ashlee...the men can't do it without a
woman!! Woman are just naturally better and have got to keep us in check! So
I thank you and because of you two, it will go on for generations! It was such a good training as you can tell in my very very fast break down of it!
So the real growth of the church is not total numbers, but being spiritually
converted...receive these ordinances! We build people, we build the church!

week 51

Hello my family! Whats going on in the 801?? Man those pictures are sweet!!!
I have always wanted to ride one of those train things what are they called?
Drive on the golden gate also! Thats sweet! Yeah I tried to send a few
pictures but its wiggin out sorry! Ill try next week. Thats cool that Marcia

visited you guys, tell her I say hi! That's way cool about the setting
apart. We just need to do the best we can and magnify our callings and
things will be ok! I am excited for you pops! Yeah man one year friday! It

goes by so fast! Yeah I think next monday Ill bring my shirt to Labasa and

burn it with the other two elders.  So fast! Mother I am pretty positive we

will be able to skype just like Christmas, no one has said anything about it

so far, but I am guessing it will be the same. That time went by fast! I
feel like we just called! Well, this week was a rough week! We didn't have
the truck this week which makes it harder and our only good investigator got

baptized already! We are at the beginning again! We walked a ton this week

too! We saw Neimani twice and we walked to his house each time, which is a 2
hour walk and so 4 hours in the day walking just to see one person plus the

lesson and just talking and what not so it takes up a lot of time! It was
ridiculously hot this week so the sun plus the walking just wore us out!

Wednesday night, we walked from his house in the rain the whole time! Haha

Everything is so spread out and when you dont have the truck its so hard to

have effective time because you need to walk so far and what not...One of

the lessons with Neimani though, we were reviewing the Restoration with him
and I kept on thinking about how much Heavenly Father loves each and every

one us. As I was teaching, I was just sharing ways of how He loves us and in
my head more and more came. There is absolutely nothing that we should

complain about! Yes we are human and weak and we always complain, but if we
truly look at it and do our best to always remember those things, we should

be grateful every second of the day. We had flat checks this week and the

Muirs and Barfuss (from Suva) came to check it and there is a whole lot that

needs to be changed. I told you that Elder Yashko and I were the first to
ever really clean the flat. So they were like you poor things, you guys are

struggling, you need more, you need a bigger fridge, this and that, this and

that! Yes, that was coming from American sr couples (no offense to anyone
who reads this haha) I just told them you know, we are grateful! We don't
complain about this or that, we just live with what we have. It was a good
lesson this week. But more about those flat checks! Its sad...I felt like it

was Christmas! We actually got a mop, rags, and a broom! It was awesome! So
Mother you would be very proud of me! I scrubbed the mold off the walls in
the shower and the bathroom, scrubbed the toilet, mopped the floor and all

that jazz! YEAH! Haha I was just laughing and said my mom would be so proud
right now! Haha, So yeah things were so so this week, some tough, but some

good! So there are 4 different church preachers that live on our street,
which make the work even harder and I guess one of them in their sermon was

calling out the LDS and how we are a branch off from a church that broke off
from the Methodist. Oh well, we just keep on moving! Another thing that I
learned and is very useful to study is hymns. I love "I need thee every
hour". Every time I sing it, I get so happy! I love it! There is power in

music for sure and we can also study the words of the hymns and they all

have scriptures that relate to it. I also read the Teachings of Brigham
Young like the Sunday school class type book. I gave a talk on it on Sunday,
about two chapters. The gospel defined and living the gospel. The gospel

defined one pretty much said, Mormonism is truth! Anything true and good is
mormonsim and we claim it..we say this church is true and what not, what
does that exactly mean?? EVERYTHING is a truth...Truth will never pass away!
It was sweet! He always talked about how the gospel is a plan or system to
help us return to Heavenly Father, it is a perfect system and we are not

perfect but the gospel is designed to perfect us. It is made to make bad
people good and good people better. In everything we do, temporally or
spiritually, we should put our God and religion in it. He talked about how

every business should be asking for a Mormon to work for him, because he can

be trusted, work, and do everything the right way. Thats living the gospel,
thats how we should be every day. Brigham Young is the man! He said that he

never cared about what happened at the millenium, but his duty is teach the

things the is needed in the everyday lives. The millenium will take care of

itself, but to live the gospel today and everyday and when that day comes,

we will  be able to rest and know what will happen to us. It was cool! I
also finished Mosiah in my reading The Book of Mormon in Fijian. I had a

goal to finish it before I leave Seaqaqa so I figured that if I leave in

May, to finish by the end of May, I need to read 11 pages per day. So I am

going to focus on that! So yeah it will be good! Two questions...Can you
email me a copy of my call letter? Second, a member tried to add me on
Facebook, but he couldnt find me, he used all the names I could think of it

could be under. My knowledge of that stuff is gone, so I dont know why he
couldn't find me. You know why?? ANyway, I am glad all is going well!!

Always study! Scriptures, hymns, living prophets, study something! Love you

week 50

Suva was crazy haha, too busy and too many people but it was sweet!! The

training was awesome! The people I stayed with was no one that I really

talked to but I got to talk to them over the weekend and they were really

cool. I met a brand new missionary who has been struggling with the language

and what not. He is from a very small mormon town in Arizona so you can

imagine he is kind of a sheltered kid but I really tried to help him a lot

and I really liked him. I hope I can serve with him soon. Want to know the

best part? So we also stayed with this kid who is going to New Calendonia

and the AP told me "Hey he is from Salt Lake and Tongan, guess who??? KONISI

HOSEA!!!! (Shane played football with him at Cottonwood) It was sooo dope

man!!! The first thing we do is hug each other. He said "what the heck? You

are not Shane without a beard"! Haha, It was so funny man. We stayed in the

same place together for 2 days and it was so fun! We were just talking and

talking and talking. Who would have guessed that we would see each other

because he is going to another place. I am on another island  but the week I

come to Suva, he goes to Suva and we just happen to stay the same place! It

was bomb! He left for New Cal on Saturday. It was sweet! So yeah, Suva was

good! Elder Vagarau was in Labasa with Estill's comp while we went to Suva.

Training was awesome Friday morning. We went to the mission home and had

breakfast, waffles! Delicious! Training and then lunch, Burgers! Delicious!

Ice Cream shakes! Delicious! It was pretty much amazing. So the training was

very good. They talked on specific things and important things that we dont

really think about a whole lot...except this one...Comp relationships,

effective district leaders and effective baptismal interviews. Comp

relationships was very good given by President Klingler, he gave us a bunch

of scriptures about companionships and 2x2 and what not..2x2 is established

by the Lord and how it's in the mission and our marriage. I really liked

Ecc. 4:9-10, Two are better than one! One lifts up when the other falls

(summary haha). It was sweet. The importance of Baptismal Interview was

really good too. Sometimes we just think we'll ask the questions, if they

get them right, there are set. We just talked about how there is so much

more than that and how you need to prepare before you give one. It's up to

us if they pass or not, if they get baptized or if there is a problem or

that is on us. Being an effective DL was good too. The AP's compared it to a

bishop of a ward and a father to a family. They are the ones who are the

most involved with the missionaries and can make a huge difference in their

work and lives. They also talked about the difference which as 19-20-21 year

old guys easily do is the difference from being respected and liked. Every

leader has that thing they need to worry about.  Yes, we want to be liked

and respected, but a lot of times people try too hard to be one or the

other. Elder Cooper applied it to his friends parents and how they really

try to be cool and "hip", haha, but he said when it comes down to it, he

liked them a lot, but didn't respect them, because of things they did or

what not. Leaders need to do their job and keep things going. I have heard

stories how people didn't like an AP. He had to do his job and would help

others do theirs even if they didnt like it or what not. So it was very

good. They talked about correcting others. It is so important but so hard to

do the right way..Boyd K. Packer said "When a person is in the position to

correct someone and fails to do so, he is thinking of himself." Then in D&C

95:1 it talks about how the Lord chastens us because he loves us...He knows

there is a better way and wants us to fix our ways. Correction is showing

love but you need to do it the right way and the other person needs to

understand that he has an opportunity to learn and better himself and be

humble about it. It was really good. I liked it alot. Yes I participated and

I was involved in the opening exercises. On Saturday, at 530 am we all got

up and played rugby in the mud. Haha it was way fun! We left around 3 so we

just hung out until then. Sunday morning.....BAPTISM!!! Yeah!! I pretty much

did everything. I don't know why either, no one else would do it! Even my

comp, who is Fijian! I spoke at the baptism, I baptized him and confirmed

him. So it was good! Pres announced he was going to be receiving the

priesthood in sacrament and I cant remember but it might have been before he

was confirmed and even interviewed him...He then ordained him to a deacon

(he is 15, 16 in July). I told him and he said it doesnt matter and what not

and didnt listen to anything I said. I talked to the Terrys about it and I

will talk to them again tonight but I was like uhh you can't give him the

priesthood if he is not even a member yet! This man drives me nuts

sometimes! Oh well, Neimani is the man!  He is going to be a stud and now

his friend wants to take lessons and some of his family, I think as well,

but not fully positive on them. So we could have a few new investigators

this week,. There is a girl that wants to be baptized in Bua as well, so we

are going there next week when we have the truck. So we could possibly have

more baptisms than all of last year in a few months! I am excited. I

probably will leave before they are baptized but as long as I do my best to

prepare them, I am set! So yeah things are going pretty good! Just keep on

working and dont stop! I got the package too! I almost forgot to tell

you....Goldfish and swedish fish!! Heaven!!! Thank you very much!! Well have

fun! Things are good! We will be talking again in what like 3 weeks! Weird!

week 49

Ni sa bula re na noqu matavuvale talei!! How's it going from the road? How

was Cali? Nice weather? Well this week was a really good week my even

without the truck! We had 12 lessons! Yes, a lot were recent convert and

less active but still its been a very very long time since Seaqaqa has had

12 lessons! We went on splits with the ZL's Elder Hill and Elder Ford. It

was very good and a lot of fun. They are on the other side of the island so

they are never in the area and they only see numbers. They said its so much

easier to understand the numbers when they came to the area and see how it

is. I told them that we are not just sitting around doing nothing, we are

working everyday and they said they now understand and what not how the area

is. But we compared the past years numbers to now, and it was decreasing but

we have stopped the decrease and the numbers are now starting to increase,

so it was very good. I witnessed the power of the priesthood this week with

Elder Hill as well. We gave one of our investigators a blessing. She looked

soo bad! She could  barely sit up, just lying on the couch and what not.

Well, the next day, she is outside walking around totally normal! She

thanked us and she told a member, "Wow, there is something different about

those two." It was sweet! That is something I have learned to be very

grateful for is the priesthood which I hold. Its amazing! The baptism is

still on! YEAH! We have done so much walking this week ha. We have walked to

and from our investigators house twice this week. He lives the farthest

away. We went with him to his teitei (farm). It was ridiculously far from

his house! I thought of teitei and thought of Burewai where it was always

muddy and grass and what not. Well we happened to walk forever on a dirt and

rocky road and I didn't take my shoes!  My feet are pretty jacked right now,

not going to lie. I have some weird thing right above my ankle, a bunch of

scratches and cuts, haha. Yeah, I am Fijian! Its all good! I had the worse

coka or the runs I would call it! Whats the legit word for it again? (I dont

know how to spell it!)  It was bad! I had to take one in the jungle, thank

heaven for leaves!! So yeah!  Neimani is set for baptism.  We are slowly

getting to know his family and hopefully we can start teaching them. Haha, I

was laughing the other day, we finally have a baptism, and I thought of "A

League of their Own". "Come on people there are a dozen of people waiting

for a baptism"! I thought it was funny!  Elder Estill and I went to his

house for the baptism interview and the two young ones (Estill is training

also) went out to OYM. We come back and they were like we have this GOLDEN

investigator! He is bomb! Well, yesterday we went to go see him and guess

what? He is totally muslim!! Which means we can't teach him! He said hi to

us and then went to go pray. They have a loud speaker that someone prays and

it is heard around all of town. I was like well, hes out of the question! Ha

it was funny. They are still learning! We had a good class in church Sunday

talking about church callings. I remember the leadership thing that Dad sent

me. We think about every calling we have received, were we ready? Did we

know what to do? NO! Never! We talked about why that is. The Lord knows when

we are ready, when we are available, to Him we are ready, but to us we are

not. Its always a chance to learn something or use our abilities and what

not. I really liked it when it said, we always rely on Heavenly Father when

we dont know what we are doing, its when we do know when, we tend to forget.

Every calling we receive, He trusts us and knows we are able to do it and it

will help us. We just need to remember that and trust Him. So yeah, its been

a good week! This week is going to be sweet too! Guess what I get to do?

Thursday I am going to Suva! Heck yeah!! I am so excited! No I didnt get

transferred but there is a leadership training Thursday to Saturday in Suva

and then I get to come back to a baptism! Heck yeah! I am stoked to spend a

couple days in Suva. Elder Key goes home this week! So fast! SO yeah thats

about all! I have a bunch of pics from the walking, a cool sunset, eating

crab, uhh i cant remember what else. Well take it easy family! Love you all!

Dad I am getting a hair cut today, my hair is kind of long and will get my

Oh yeah the last one with the little flower type thing, that is "Fijian

jell" haha you hit it on your head and squeeze it and stuff comes out and

use it as a jell type thing ha it was sweet!

week 48

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACE!!!! in......2 days! You are what we like to call qase here in fiji...old! Haha jk. Hows it going in the homeland of1639 E. St. Charles Place (I am suprised I still remember the address) Sounds like things are going good! Things this week were really good! Very good week! Our investigator is set for baptism on the 21st! The interview will be this Friday. We have had some really good lessons with him and the last lesson, three of his family members were sitting with us talking about the church. We gave them a Book of Mormon. We hope we can get some more  investigators in the family. We are struggling big time getting new investigators! His grandpa is an interesting guy. He said he has  studied Joseph Smith for 7 years and testifies that Joseph Smith is a true prophet. He said he finds no fault in his teachings and that  its all true.. I guess he pretty much believes everything but still

doesn't understand the baptisms for the dead. He has talked to our branch pres. a lot in the past and what not. We have only talked to him  once. He wants to know if Joseph was Jewish also, haha. So we want to work with him and if the grandpa gets baptized I bet all will. I  feel one day, he will be baptized for sure. He doesn't claim a church but I think he knows where he needs to go. So it was  awesome! So with his question of Joseph being a Jew and what not and  in my own studies, I have been wanting to know the whole manassah  ephriam deal, stick of joseph and Ephraim, all that jazz. Well this  whole week was probably the best studying I have done in my life! I have  learned and testified to me again that The Book of Mormon is true! Reading it from Genesis about the promises to Abraham, Isaac, and  Jacob, then to Joseph and Ephraim, then go into The Book of Mormon,  about their history of Lehis family and the "covenant of our fathers",  The whole prophesy of Joseph by Joseph of Egypt and don't let me forget  the JST, HUGE! Everlasting Hills, top of the mountains, free land,  constitution, 14 years later Jospeh Smith was born...weird!! NOT!!  God will never break his covenants with His children and his work  doesnt change! The marvelous work and a wonder to restore his people  that they will know the knowledge of Christ and the coming forth of  The Book of Mormon, THROUGH Joseph Smith, not FROM. There's a  difference! The Book of Mormon is written that we will believe THAT (The Bible) If we will believe THAT, then we will believe THIS..By  this history of The Bible, the covenants and promises given. The Book of Mormon and things today are still being fulfilled. We are in the gathering! Gospel to all nations! Weird...I am in Fiji another nation far away doing what? Preaching the gospel. It's all  TRUE!!! Yeah I spent like a little over a week going through  scripture after scripture and bring it all together..Its all in my  study journal, too, so I can always go back and study and add things I  missed and what not. Its the bomb!! I love learning!!! haha! I was  reading about disciples somewhere, I can't remember where, but it said  that the latin form, I think it was, it means "Learner". I was thinking  about how we are disciples of Jesus Christ or we are all learners of  Jesus Christ. We are to learn everything about him, his works and then to become like Him. We are in this life to learn to become like Christ. So yeah that was my studies for the week! So Dad I am working on it!! Language is doing good, this is the tough thing about Fijian. Fijians don't know their own language, haha. There has been a lot of changes to it and what not. So the hard thing about reading The Book of Mormon is that there is a ton of old words that no one knows so you really have to pay attention to things they say. That has been my biggest problem, my vocab. I am working on knowing new words but I swear every time I ask someone what a word is they say don't use it or dont know what it is! I feel pretty comfortable though, still not where I want to be, but compared to some other missionaries that have been out longer than I have, I am doing pretty well. Elder Vagarau doesn't speak English at all, which is really nice. I can read it fine and writing is the proper Fijian. You can't write how you speak, because like I said, Fijians don't know the whole language. Something I am working on is writing  proper Fijian, because if you can write well, you know Fijian well. A lot of people dont know how to read and write in Fiji. Transfers are next week. This month and in June there will be 20 total missionaries leaving. A lot of changes will be made, its going to be crazy. I shower everyday don't worry! Roads are doing better, it didnt really rain last week. I just got done eating some chicken curry...delicious! We have been having a frog problem man!! There have been frogs all around our house! For some reason, no other room but mine, they like to drop a deuce or two!! Like 6 times last week there was frog veka(fijian) in my room! It's ridiculous! Oh yeah we killed 3 more rats! Diet....HA what diet? I am about 190, and this week I have noticed my garments are getting tighter! Haha I have been busting out pull ups like no other though so that's probably the reason!  One another thing I was thinking about this week was our prayers before every football game. Cecil would always have someone LDS say the prayer. The whole 4 years. Hmmm why? I think we all know why. So yeah it was sweet. I am happy, good week! I am glad all is well with you and the Easter holiday. They celebrate good Friday here and Easter but don't really do anything. Well love you all! Take care! Have fun!
